1. Demonstrate rudiments and rolls at various dynamics
2. One solo or etude from Delecluse, Albright, Peters, Goldenberg, Wilcoxin, Pratt, Podemski, or equivalent.

Marimba/Xylophone

1. All major and minor scales, two octaves
2. One movement or solo piece/etude from Peters, Stout, Abe, Bach (Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin), Creston, Musser, Rosauro, etc.
3. Sightreading

Timpani

1. Rolls and general strokes at various dynamics. Basic knowledge of intervals and tuning.
2. A short solo or etude; 3-4 timpani preferred (Goodman, Vic Firth, Peters, Delecluse, Schinstine, etc.)
3. Sightreading

Master of Music

1. A Delecluse snare drum etude of your choice
2. An advanced-level mallet solo suitable for a senior recital (first movement of a concerto)
3. An advanced-level timpani solo (one movement) or advanced etude
4. Two orchestral excerpts each for timpani, snare drum, and xylophone
5. A demonstrated sight-reading proficiency

Doctor of Musical Arts

1. A Delecluse snare drum etude of your choice
2. An advanced-level four mallet solo suitable for a graduate level recital
3. An adanced-level two mallet solo suitable for a graduate level recital
4. An advanced-level timpani solo (one movement) or advanced etude
5. Four orchestral excerpts each for timpani, snare drum, and xylophone
6. Two orchestral excerpts each for tambourine, triangle, cymbals, and bass drum
7. A demonstrated sight-reading proficiency
