Note: All pieces must be performed from memory except contemporary works (composed since 1970).

- The first movement of a sonata for violin and piano in a contrasting style to the concerto
- A virtuoso concert piece by composers such as Paganini, Sarasate, Vieuxtemps, Wieniawski, or Ysaÿe (any works not written for solo violin must be performed with accompaniment).
Either 1, 3 or 4 must be a contemporary piece (composed since 1945). Note: All pieces must be performed from memory except 3 (the sonata) and any contemporary works.
Professional studies applicants must demonstrate the highest level of musicianship.
