Zuber, Gregory

Born in Boston, MA
Principal percussionist, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and member of the orchestra since 1986. Before joining the Met was principal percussionist with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra for one season. Has toured the United States, Europe, and Japan, and appeared with the Met Orchestra as a concerto soloist at Carnegie Hall. Performs regularly with the Met Chamber Ensemble and as part of the New York Chamber Music Festival; has also performed with the Phildelphia Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, and Chicago Symphony. Percussion coach for the Verbier Music Festival since 2000 where he has appeared in solo and chamber music recitals. Has performed with the National Repertory Orchestra and as a Fellow at the Tanglewood Center for the Arts. Zuber enjoys of performing chamber music with his wife, flutist Patricia Zuber.

B.M., U. of Illinois, student of Tom Siwe; M.M., Temple U., student of Alan Abel (Philadelphia Orchestra); further studies with James Ross (Chicago Symphony). Attended the Interlochen Center for the Arts and Interlochen Arts Academy.
