Profile:
Maya Gunji recieved her BM and MM from the Juilliard School, and has performed with many of New York's leading ensembles, including the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the American Ballet Theater Orchestra, the New York City Ballet Orchestra, and as a guest artist with the Berlin Philharmonic, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the Mariisnky Orchestra, the Israel Philarhomnic, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. She is a member of the Orchestra of St. Luke's, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and was the timpanist for the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra from 1992-2006. She has performed on Broadway in productions of The Threepenny Opera, the Man of the La Mancha, Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, and Mary Poppins.
JOSEPH TOMPKINS
Profile:
Percussionist Joseph Tompkins has performed with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the New York City Opera and Ballet Orchestras, and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s. On Broadway he has played in productions of The King and I, Swan Lake, Oklahoma!, The Lion King, The Producers, Spamalot, The Light in the Piazza, Tarzan, Guys and Dolls andIn the Heights. Tompkins has a performed on film soundtracks for The Manchurian Candidate, The Last Holiday, Failure to Launch, andCasanova. For seven years he was a member of the percussion trio Timetable, a group committed to commissioning and performing new works for percussion. He is Area Coordinator of the Percussion Department at Rutgers University, on faculty at Mannes College the New School for Music, and is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the Manhattan School of Music.
