Cellist Eugene Osadchy is hailed as having "the most refined and balanced string playing" by the New York Times and has been called "a paragon of Russian élan" by the Vancouver Sun. Newsday writes he is "a soloist with a clearly defined musical personality" and is noted for his "extraordinary playing" by the Dallas Morning News. "Mr. Osadchy possesses a very rich tone and is steeped in the great classical tradition. It is good to know that there are ardent keepers of the flame." The New York Sun.
Currently Professor of Cello at the University of North Texas, Eugene Osadchy is a Principal cellist with the Plano Symphony. He is also the Artistic Advisor of the Vetta Chamber Music Series in Vancouver, Canada and the Blue Candlelight Music Series in Dallas, TX. Eugene Osadchy regularly performs with orchestras in Canada, the United States and Asia. He has performed at the Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center, and the Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto. In addition, Mr. Osadchy makes frequent appearances at the Bargemusic series in New York, the Autumn Classic series in Anchorage, Chamber Music International in Dallas, Strings in the Mountains at Steamboat Springs, Colorado, International Niagara Music Festival in Canada and Summit Festival in New York.
Mr. Osadchy has also performed and given master classes throughout Europe, South Africa, USA, Canada, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. He has participated in numerous festivals around the world including the Amsterdam and Groningen International Festivals in Holland, the Stellenbosch International Music Festival in South Africa, Famalicao Music Festival in Portugal, the Vetta Chamber Music Series in Vancouver (where he formerly served as Artistic Director), Music at Blair Athol in Scotland, the Castel Franko di Veneto Festival in Italy, the Mozart Festival in Woodstock, Illinois, as well as Vancouver, Victoria, Banff, Seattle, Sitka, Durango, the Mozart Festival in Long Island, NY, and Maui Music Festivals.
Other musical credits of Mr. Osadchy include recordings with the CBC Radio Orchestra which have received numerous Juno awards - the Canadian equivalent of the Grammies. He has composed two film scores and has several CD’s on the Melodia label featuring his own compositions and arrangements. Mr. Osadchy has made more than 60 arrangements for various cello ensembles. For the past ten years, Mr. Osadchy has presented his Annual North Texas Summer Cello Clinic.
Mr.Osadchy has won critical acclaim for his recently released CD “Russian Romances” on Seafair-Bolo Records with pianist Anastasia Markina.
Nikola Ruzevic

A native of Croatia, Nikola Ruzevic has established himself as an international performer and teacher. His career, to date, has taken him to many countries around the world where he has received critical acclaim for his artistry.
Nikola Ruzevic has won numerous prizes and awards including the World Association of Young Businessmen Award for the Outstanding Contribution in Arts, Croatian String Teachers Association - String Teacher of the Year Award, University of Southern California - Outstanding Leadership in Chamber Music Award, Colorado Symphony National Orchestra Competition - first prize, Rose Pollack Award, American String Teachers Association Competition, California - third prize, Bell T. Richie Award, Mu Phi Epsilon Award, Yugoslav String Competition - first prize.
Mr. Ruzevic has performed as a soloist and a chamber musician with such renowned groups and artists as Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Baden-Baden Philharmonic, Zagreb Philharmonic, Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra, Solisti di Zagreb, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, Bartok String Quartet, Emerson String Quartet, Sebastian String Quartet, Zagreb String Quartet , Viotti String Quartet, Apple Hill Chamber Players, Members of the Bolshoi Theater Moscow, Members of the München Philharmonic Orchestra, Fresno Cello Ensemble, Mitani On, Yossi Reshef, Joan Tower and Dora Schwarzberg.
Mr. Ruzevic has earned his Bachelor of Music degree, Magna cum Laude and Masters of Music degree at the University of Southern California under the instruction of Prof. E. Schoenfeld. His other teachers include M. Flaksman, D. Berkovic-Magdalenic, V. Despalji, D. Grigorian, R. Kirshbaum and A. Janigro.
Nikola Ruzevic has held teaching positions at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, University of Zagreb, Croatia, University of Texas at Arlington, Zagreb Music School, Croatia, Apple Hill Chamber Music Festival, and principal cellist positions in the following orchestras: Fresno Philharmonic, Fresno Opera, and Los Angeles Guild Opera. At present, Mr. Ruzevic is the professor of Cello and Chamber Music at the University of North Texas, Denton and a regular professor at the “Uzmah Hvar” International Summer School, Croatia, the Texas Cello Academy and Festival, USA, the Accent Music Festival, USA and the Upbeat International Music Festival, Japan. Nikola Ruzevic is a recording artist for A Classics and Croatia Records.

Phone: 940-565-4571 Allen Whear is Associate Principal Cellist of Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Artistic Director of Pro Musica Rara, Baltimore, Maryland's premier early music ensemble. He is Principal Cellist and Recital Director of the Carmel Bach Festival in California. A graduate of the New England Conservatory and the Juilliard School, he was the recipient of an ITT International Fellowship and studied with Anner Bylsma in Amsterdam and holds a doctorate from Rutgers University. He has performed as soloist with Tafelmusik, the Brandenburg Collegiums, Philadelphia Classical Symphony, the Mid-Atlantic Chamber Orchestra, and the Charleston Symphony. He has appeared with Musica Antiqua Köln, the Vienna Boys Choir, Concert Royal, the Mozartean Players, the Smithsonian Chamber Players, Aradia, the Maggio Musicale in Florence, and toured Japan and Singapore as principal cellist with Opera Atelier. He is active as a lecturer and a prolific writer of program notes. His liner notes for Mozart and Beethoven symphonies have been published on the Sony and Analekta labels. His recording credits include Sony, Virgin, Musical Heritage, Naxos, and Deutsche Harmonia Mundi. |
